Welcome to St Stephen’s Church, which has been the centre of worship in the rural community of Ambridge since 1281. We are a vibrant church set upon a hilltop in the village of Ambridge in Borsetshire. We, at the Parish Church of St Stephen, attract people of all ages and outlooks to services that range from the contemporary to the traditional, from the informal to the formal and we would love to meet you.
The church is open to visitors every day between 9am and 5pm and light refreshments are often available on Saturdays. Visitors are welcome to explore the church with the help of our guide leaflets.

Acknowledgements
This site is entirely a work of fiction. We are grateful to the church of St Mary the Virgin, Hanbury, which normally stands in for St Stephen’s in Radio 4’s The Archers, for pictures from their website showing this lovely sandstone church and for some of the text. The history section is taken from a Radio 4 archive page.
