WordPress keeps your pictures and files in a separate area called the Media Library. This is a little different from some website design systems, but it does allow you to see what files you already have, and you can use the same image on different pages without having to upload a new copy.

Things to be aware of with the Church Site websites is that we store media files externally, and we use an image compressor to save space and speed up page load times. After uploading an item it is best to wait for it to be optimised. If you are in the list view with each item listed separately, one per row, you will initially see a spinning indicator on the right. When optimisation is complete you will see how much compression has been applied.
All media items should have a URL starting with https://uploads.churchsite.co.uk/ regardless of whether you are using a custom domain name.
Replacing an existing item
If you store data files such as PDF files, you may at some point wish to update the file, for example if your constitution or membership form is revised.
What you need to do is upload the new file and get its URL as if you were inserting it for the first time (see the Menus and Links page).
